The Bunker CIC and Washington Mind have formed a valuable partnership to support young people in Sunderland experiencing poor mental health.
Together, they provide a safe, creative environment where music is used as a tool for expression, confidence-building, and emotional wellbeing.
Through 1-to-1 music sessions, young people can explore songwriting, production, and playing instruments at their own pace, supported by experienced mentors.
Group sessions offer a chance to connect with others, collaborate on music projects, and reduce feelings of isolation. These sessions are designed to be youth-led, relaxed, and non-clinical, allowing participants to open up and build resilience through creativity.
By combining Washington Mind’s mental health expertise with The Bunker’s inclusive music facilities, this partnership gives young people a unique outlet to process their emotions and feel heard. It’s not about being a musician – it’s about finding your voice, connecting, and healing through music.
