What’s going on this week?

Following the A-maze-ing events we had going on at the weekend, we have a very full week this week!

We have Centre Point’s taster session happening later today which we are hoping will help them to decide which project they would like to pursue next; then we are hoping to run a six week project to prepare them for their big journey toward gaining many qualifications. Who are Centre Point? Centre Point are dedicated to providing accommodation for young people aged between 16-25 to get back into education, employment and training. They give them a chance to turn their lives around, build firm foundations, and prepare for a future where they realise their potential. They support over 8,400 young people a year in London and the North East.

You may have heard a lot about the workshops we have been doing with Seafarers Way and we are very happy that they enjoyed having us there so much that this project has now been extended to another three weeks worth of workshops! We will be back there this Wednesday doing more of our Musical Bingo workshops which we’ve heard is their favourite activity!

This Weekend we have a very tasty treat for everyone at Park Lane! Eat Me, Drink Me will be kicking off this Saturday where there will be  dance performances from Dance Jam, face painting, games, stalls and much more! We even have a special performance from Off Key Music, they are a Big Band and have a wide variety of instruments! If you would like to find out more about the goings on of August then follow this link, there is a lot more to come!

Eat Me Drink Me

Here is a sneak peak of what our Singing Club had to offer last weekend, but don’t fret if you missed them… they have a lot more to come!!

"The Bunker is a superb place to have in Sunderland, it is a breeding ground for talent and without it I doubt I would have ever become a professional musician. I have been going there for 15 years and it's better than ever. It's soulful, ethical and affordable and the city would be screwed without it. I love it."

"Sunderland owes a great deal to the Bunker. Not just because of the bands it has helped to nurture. Well known bands reveal only a fraction of the important work that the bunker does. The work the bunker does is truly invaluable and our City cannot do without it!
