The Bunker & Grosvenor Casino Double Up!

For your entertainment, The Bunker & Grosvenor Casino have partnered up to bring you live music every month. With themes ranging across the board, from a Prince tribute night to a 60’s & Swing evening, they certainly have something for everyone.

The Bunker’s own house band, Fractals, has been involved already, giving a performance for their Prince tribute night featuring top tracks from the hitmaker such as ‘Purple Rain’ and ‘Kiss’.

They also kicked things off with the first ever performance at the casino in Sunderland for the premiere of Suicide Squad, teaming up with the Empire Cinema across the road. After going to watch the new DC superhero movie, fans could take to the casino and enjoy cocktails whilst the band did their thing, playing hits from the film’s soundtrack, including but not limited to; Another One Bites the Dust, Fortunate Son & Heathens. This was a great opportunity to take heed of their brilliant deal where you can visit the cinema, then grab a meal AND a free drink from the casino for just £12!

Last month they also had their first open mic/karaoke night, where our winner walked away with £50, and our runner up received a meal & drink for two after giving a fabulous and powerful performance.

Percussionist of Fractals, Ceiran Braddock, exclaimed his enthusiasm for the new events, “this new partnership is a fantastic opportunity for all involved, including the Casino, The Bunker & the band – it’s not everyday you get to perform in a casino!”

Rachel, event co-ordinator for Grosvenor Casino, told us how she thought about the new partnership: “we have had great fun collaborating with The Bunker on our live band nights. This partnership has allowed us to come up with some exciting events, such as Suicide Squad night – this helps deliver a different customer experience within the Casino, whilst giving us a chance to support local musicians by adding them to our entertainment offer.

The Casino along with our neighbours, Empire Cinemas Sunderland, and The Bunker look forward to hosting more artists in the future and have an exciting list of themed events coming your way for the rest of 2016 leading into the New Year”.

To check out the other offers that the casino has on offer, check the posters below and there will be event dates posted onto their Facebook page for future performances.

"The Bunker is a superb place to have in Sunderland, it is a breeding ground for talent and without it I doubt I would have ever become a professional musician. I have been going there for 15 years and it's better than ever. It's soulful, ethical and affordable and the city would be screwed without it. I love it."

"Sunderland owes a great deal to the Bunker. Not just because of the bands it has helped to nurture. Well known bands reveal only a fraction of the important work that the bunker does. The work the bunker does is truly invaluable and our City cannot do without it!
