On 31st of May the Bunker employees, in association with the children’s foundation, took part in a charity Bag pack at the Bridges Tesco. The idea is simple; we pack your bags for you, you donate some money to charity. The Children’s Foundation is a local charity, set up in 1990, with the vision of giving children and young people in the North East the best health and wellbeing services in the UK.
The mission of The Children’s Foundation is simple: “To raises funds to enable research, support service delivery and create partnership programmes, designed to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people in the North East.” When we at the bunker were contacted by The Children’s Foundation we jumped at the opportunity to be on of those partnership programmes.
So what happened? We asked our apprentices to take part and then they headed to Tesco to help customers with there packing. The event raised a wonderful £131.11 and hopefully brightened a few Tesco’s Shoppers day. Here’s Grace Patchett, one of the employees of the bunker, talks about the event and how people reacted:
“It’s a great opportunity to help out a great charity, and it was a brilliant success, everyone seemed to be thankful for the help and were more than happy to give some money to charity”
Hannah Matterson is the funding coordinator for The Bunker and arranged the bag pack with The Children’s Foundation; here she talks about the bunkers commitment to charity:
“The Bunker have been involved in charity before and are always happy to help out when it comes to such a great cause. The bag pack is a really simple, easy but effective way to raise some money,”
