Last Wednesday we delivered a drum and percussion circle to The Percy Hedley Foundation. Because the young people have physical and learning disabilities, we were aiming to provide them with a therapeutic experience and to help them to develop their confidence. They all worked together to create beats using the Djembes and a variety of hand percussion like Cabasas, claves, triangles, etc. This workshop was a great success and it was really rewarding to see the students engaging in the activities and making loads of noise.
Students Quote: “”I liked the drumming, I liked the beats. The teachers were nice, I learnt new skills to do with drumming.””
